A READING RESOURCE

Premature ejaculation: a book to explore at your own pace.

I no longer offer consultations for premature ejaculation. To explore this subject, I recommend Étienne Vallon’s book.

Talking about it together

EXCERPT FROM THE ENGLISH MANUSCRIPT

Many of the men I see have never told their partner what they were living. They may have said "sorry" after sex. They may have mumbled "that came too fast." But naming the problem, explaining it, saying what they're trying to do, no. It's taboo even within the relationship.

I want to tell you why that's a shame, and how it can be done differently.

Silence about premature ejaculation, in a relationship, protects nobody. Quite the opposite. Your partner senses there's a problem. She sees your tension before sex, your withdrawal afterward, your avoidance sometimes. And in the silence, she builds her own explanations, often wrong, and often more painful than the reality. "He doesn't find me attractive anymore." "He doesn't take time with me." "He doesn't love me the way he used to." "There's someone else." Silence makes room for all of those interpretations.

Speaking isn't a betrayal of your privacy. It's an act of connection.
